Nursery Pt. 2

This Thanksgiving weekend Brent was a busy Daddy getting things ready for Allison's nursery. I am sure most of you remember that he made wood cutouts of animals for Blake's nursery so for Alli's room he made a flower and ladybug to match her bedding. They turned out amazing, as always, and I am so excited to get them on the wall for the final touches :) Alli and I are doing well. We have a Dr. appt. on Thursday to see how big she is so that is exciting. We are praying for a healthy but little girl :)

Family Day

Yesterday was one of those unplanned wonderful family days. We woke up in the morning with very little to do. We relaxed in our pj's, ate sausage biscuits and watched some of "Back to the Future" on TV. Since the weather was gorgeous, we headed out to the park to enjoy the crisp fall day. Blake had a blast running through the leaves and we just enjoyed being together. In the evening we decided to attend the Grand Illumination Parade in Norfolk. Boy was that an adventure! It was much more crowded than we expected but as always Blake was a trooper! (Mommy was too since we had to walk quite a bit) It was such an amazing night to watch Blake light up as he saw the decorated floats, balloons, and marching bands pass by. He was in complete awe from the beginning, but by the end was waving at everyone and dancing with the music. Yesterday was a day I know I won't forget. It reminds me of how blessed I am to have Brent and Blake in my life. God is so faithful and I am so thankful for the family he has given me. Soon Alli will arrive and I can't wait to hold her, love her and welcome her into our family so we can have even more memorable days together!

Nursery Pt. 1

Well you know its the second child when I am about 3 weeks from my due date and the nursery is still not finished. It has come a long way (from being our office) and we are almost finished with it so I have no doubt it will be ready for Allison when she comes. I love the green we chose for the walls since it makes all the other colors pop! Here is a sneak peak :)

Blake & Mommy Time

As my due date approaches, I know my time with just Blake is going to be limited so last week I wanted to do something fun together that didn't require too much energy for Mommy :) Blake found a new love for Rice Krispie Treats so I decided he could help Mommy make a batch since he also loves helping in the kitchen! I thought it would be fun to document the process so here are the pictures of our afternoon treat. They turned out delicious!

Diaper Shower!

We were so blessed on Friday when Brent's students threw us a surprise diaper shower for baby Alli! Blake and I plotted to be at the school by 3:00 so we could see Brent be surprised :) Blake was the center of attention which he loved and Brent and I were overwhelmed by the amount of diapers we received. The grand total was 1870! The kids did a great job varying the sizes so we should be set for quite awhile. We also received wipes and some other special gifts just for Alli! Thank you so much to all those who helped out and gave us diapers. We are so thankful for you and God's abundant blessings!
