First Tooth!
I forgot to mention this in the previous post but Blake cut his first tooth last Friday Sept. 19th. We were traveling to Aunt Lori's and I noticed that Blake's bib was completely dry, which is a very rare occurrence. Sure enough one of his lower central incisors popped through. YEAH! We had a wonderful 2 or 3 days with no drooling or teething pain. However, it didn't last long and he seems to be working on the others :) I can't believe how fast he is growing up. I'll post a picture once we can Blake to cooperate. He keeps sticking his tongue out to block the shot!

A fun weekend with Aunt Lori and Uncle Dusty
Blake took his first long trip in the car this weekend up to Roanoke to visit Aunt Lori and Uncle Dusty. We all had a great time and made some very fun memories!
We got to go see Dusty's marching band play on Friday night. Blake loved it!
Brent and Lori had this crazy idea to compete in the Marine Mud Run 5k on Saturday. The last 100 yards or so was through a gigantic mud pit.
Can anyone spot the clothes that will be going in the trash?
Now that's a picture only a mother could love!
Zoe and Blake got along great! He thought she was hilarious!

Already A Busy Week
Here are just a few snapshots of Blake's adventures this week as a 6 month old! :)
Taking his 6 month old picture sitting up like a big boy! No more bouncy seat needed
Trying out a new 'hairdo' after bath time
Loving on Millie Sunday morning in our jammies
Eating carrots at Sunday lunch. Blake thought they were tastier than the bland cereal.

6 Month Checkup
Blake went for his 6 month checkup today and he did great. He weighs 15lbs 5oz and is 26 1/2" long (although the nurse rushed this measurement and I think it is more like 27"). I cannot believe he will be 6 months old on Sunday. He is such a joy in our life and we just love him to pieces. The picture was taken by Brent's dad. We are blessed to have a professional photographer in the family who can capture so many special moments for us! Thanks Poppy! (www.ranieter.com)

Visit to the Specialist
Yesterday, I took Blake to see a pediatric gastroenternologist for his reflux issues. Blake has been dealing with these reflux symptoms for about 4 months and we had reached the point where his pediatrician felt we needed to consult with the specialist to make sure we are managing it the best we can. Blake is such a happy kid and the reflux symptoms have been decreasing but in the last three months his weight gain has slowed and that makes mommy very nervous. After talking to the doctor, he agreed that it is reflux and nothing more serious. Praise the Lord! He also decided to up the current dosage of Blake's medicine and just encouraged us to continue trying the cereal and try to get Blake to take a bottle so we can see his intake. So far, Blake has not understood that whole bottle thing. The doctor was not concerned about the lack of weight gain since Blake is still on the growth chart and said he just looks thinner because of how tall he is. (hmmm, wonder where he got all that height :) Overall, I was encouraged by the doctor and relieved to know that we are in the care of the best doctors for this problem. We continue to ask for your prayers that Blake will out grow this condition soon and that he continues to gain weight.
