Yesterday, I took Blake to see a pediatric gastroenternologist for his reflux issues. Blake has been dealing with these reflux symptoms for about 4 months and we had reached the point where his pediatrician felt we needed to consult with the specialist to make sure we are managing it the best we can. Blake is such a happy kid and the reflux symptoms have been decreasing but in the last three months his weight gain has slowed and that makes mommy very nervous. After talking to the doctor, he agreed that it is reflux and nothing more serious. Praise the Lord! He also decided to up the current dosage of Blake's medicine and just encouraged us to continue trying the cereal and try to get Blake to take a bottle so we can see his intake. So far, Blake has not understood that whole bottle thing. The doctor was not concerned about the lack of weight gain since Blake is still on the growth chart and said he just looks thinner because of how tall he is. (hmmm, wonder where he got all that height :) Overall, I was encouraged by the doctor and relieved to know that we are in the care of the best doctors for this problem. We continue to ask for your prayers that Blake will out grow this condition soon and that he continues to gain weight.

Well at least the doctor's aren't too concerned and hopefully he'll outgrow it real soon. I have a feeling he and Anna are going to be getting into trouble together pretty soon!
so glad to hear that you've received some good news from the specialist - I know you are relieveD!!!
Glad for the report on Blake. The cereal thing will come better, believe me - we've all been through it!! It won't be long before he'll be crawling, & sitting up on his own!

So glad to hear that the specialist isn't too concerned. He doesn't look to sure about that cereal, does he? He looks happy in all the other pictures though! I hope you all get into a better routine soon... we'd love to have you visit.
Cereal, smeareal---give the boy some real food! You know, Quarter Pounder with cheese, large fries,...
I've been talking to "the Doctor," and He has everything under control!
love,
Poppy
